Nearby to the Nagasaki Peace Park, this museum is a remembrance to the second atomic bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki on 9th August in 1945 at 11:02 am. The clock which stopped at 11:02 is also on display to demonstrate the scale and impact of the attack. The museum gives a detailed (if harrowing) background of the bombing and has documents and objects relating to the bombing. The museum aims to promote peace and discusses the issues of war and atomic weaponry, urging for peace. While certainly an interesting and important museum and a place many choose to visit, the exhibits can be quite intensely emotional, so please be careful if you feel like the experience might be too overwhelming.
