Okonomiyaki is the most famous dish among Hiroshima’s local food.
Unlike Osaka-style okonomiyaki, where batter is mixed with cabbage and other ingredients and cooked together, the ingredients of Hiroshima’s okonomiyaki (cabbage, meat, yakisoba (fried) noodles, egg, etc.) are cooked in separate layers. There are more than 2,000 okonomiyaki restaurants in Hiroshima city, and there are even Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki restaurant complexes such as Okonomi-mura, Okonomi Kyowakoku Hiroshima-mura, and Hiroshima Okonomi Monogatari Ekimae Hiroba.
