Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter

Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter

Kurashiki prospered as “Tenryo”, a domain directly controlled by the Shogunate during the Edo period, as it was an important distribution route of rice and other local products gathered from the surrounding area.

The original white walls and black-tiled storehouses lined up along the Kurashiki River have been converted to museums, cafes and galleries.
