Adachi Museum was established by a local businessman, Adachi Zenko, in 1970 and is based upon his private art collection. The museum is proud of it’s the great collection of Yokoyama Taikan paintings and the splendid Japanese gardens which were selected as the number one Japanese gardens by the magazine Journal of Japanese Gardening for a 13th consecutive year. The founder, Mr Adachi, collected rocks and pine trees for the garden himself from all over Japan to create the picturesque gardens with their seasonal expression of natural beauty.
