Went to Japan in June with my wife. We had planned our trip from the end of 2014 with the help of Japan Travel Center, and more specifically Sandy who was amazing. The quality of the service and the prices obtained are incredibly better than anything you can get from other agents. The food, especially the local food is exceptional. Overall, I believe there aren't many countries in the world that offer as much as what Japan does.

Our trip to Japan was, by far, the most enlightening and enjoyable holiday I have ever been on.

The organisation was made easy thanks to the continued help and advice of the Japan Centre. From booking ryokans to advising us on cultural etiquette, their team's advice proved invaluable. 

The trip itself ran smoothly all the way through, even though we spoke shamefully little Japanese. Everyone we came across helped us and ensured we got from A to B without a hitch, and always with a smile and lots of enthusiasm. We met many people along the way, made friends with ryokan owners and random strangers who were keen to practice their English, and fell in love with Japanese food, Japanese culture and, most of all, Japanese people.

I would go back to Japan in a heartbeat and have already convinced many of my friends to make it their next adventure as well.

Japan Travel Centre were excellent! All the places I stayed in that they recommended and booked were just what I wanted and needed. The Japan Rail Pass is a godsend - you can get just about anywhere with it and other travel (bus, tram or subway) is very affordable compared to the UK.

I loved Japan and can't wait to go back.

This was our first time in Japan. We would strongly recommend the use of an agent to help plan a trip, particularly if you are travelling for the first time. Japan Travel Centre was excellent.

We had 20 days in Japan. Our itinerary started with 5 days in Tokyo followed by travelling to other parts of Japan using a 14 day rail card - absolutely the way to travel. My goodness they are punctual.

Please bear in mind that all the cities are huge and take quite a time to travel through. You may find that you only get to visit one or two places of interest in one day due to the time it takes to get there.

The transport systems are excellent and English signage is to be found. Pre-booking of train trips 2-3 days in advance is recommended. Use rechargeable Suica cards (obtainable at Narita airport) for travelling around in Tokyo.

We had a range of accommodation; Japanese traditional ryokan, inns and western style accommodation - again to be strongly recommended. We stayed from 1 to 5 days in different places. One day is a little too short a stay and so we would recommend minimum of 2 days in each place.

April is a beautiful time in Japan, particularly for the cherry blossom and the temperature is not too hot which is ideal for travel. We would possibly like to go in autumn as well as the colours are supposed to be fabulous.

If you think you will need internet connection while you are in Japan research it carefully - you can hire sim cards, etc at the airport. We managed just to connect within our hotels for free (with the exception I think of one hotel).

A couple of hotels had mini laundries in so you could wash and dry clothing which was really handy.

We preferred Japan Airlines (travelled with them on the way out) to British Airways (way back) as the service was better (same aircraft). You may also be able to make savings on your air fare by travelling out of the UK via another European airport which we did going out. It only added a couple of hours on which didn't matter as it coincided with check in time quite nicely.

As regards thermal spas these were enjoyed more by the female members in our family than the male. Our 10 year old daughter really enjoyed the experience and did not find the water too hot. Etiquette please note.

If we went back then we would probably stay in fewer places but for longer periods of time.

We were a little concerned about earthquakes before we went but nothing affected our trip in this regard and certainly would not put us off visiting Japan.

Japan is a very safe country to travel in - at least that is how we felt.

We would love to use Japan Travel Centre again.

I really loved booking my holiday with Japan Travel Centre - it was a huge thing for me travelling alone and they made it easy and answered all my questions. And I had quite a few - some silly ones but they were really supportive.

I highly recommend Japan Travel Centre to help you book your holiday to Japan. We wanted an organized trip without having to take a tour group. Sandy was excellent at catering the holiday for us. All her instructions were very clear and it's very easy to get around Japan. The trains service is outstanding.

We didn't feel it was that difficult to communicate with people, even if they didn't speak English they were always extremely helpful. Our best investments were definitely using the luggage transfer service provided all over Japan. We traveled a lot, so it was so worth not having to carry around heavy luggage. The other was a portable internet device. This saved us so much time when it came to navigating to places or finding information and was also handy for using Google translate when we really couldn't communicate with someone.

Finally my highlights were probably the Japanese hospitality and culture, the amazing food and the train travel. Also, save some space in your luggage for shopping. The shops are fantastic. Especially Tokyu Hands, which has practically everything you would ever need. I cant wait to go again!

My wife and I went to Japan on our honeymoon. We had a fantastic time travelling across Japan, each city was its own experience, each with its own personality and charm. The people of Japan were so friendly and helpful with utmost love and respect for other. Everyone is eager to help and please, we felt very safe and at home in Japan.

The food is amazing with a vast range to try. Ramen, Tonkatsu, yakkitori, Teppanyaki, Gyoza, Sushi, Omaniaki, Chanko, Shaboo shaboo, Tempura. Useful items for your trip: Japan Rail Pass if you are travelling across Japan (the public transport is amazing), Pasmo card if you are going to use the subway trains, prepaid data sim card (pop in your smartphone for access to the internet, google maps, tripadvisor etc), and a decent camera (Japan is beautiful). Hope you enjoy Japan as much as we did, we were there for over two weeks and we still didnt manage to enjoy everything Japan had to offer.

We will definitely go there again and will definitely use the Japan Travel Centre again. Our agent was amazing, she organised everything for us and wrote out clear instructions too. When we got to our last hotel, there was even a present for us from JTC. Thank you Japan Travel Centre, you are the best. We even recommended you to the taxi driver that picked us up from the airport 🙂
