One of the Kerama Islands off the coast of the main island, Tokashiki can be reached in 35 minutes by high-speed boat or 70 minutes by ferry from Tomari Port in Naha. As onboard seating is limited, during the summer holiday season, advance ticket reservations are highly recommended.
Tokashiku Beach and Aharen Beach are the best known beaches on Tokashiki Island. Of the two, Aharen Beach is larger and is somewhat more commercialised than Tokashiku. Both beaches can lay claim to crystal-clear blue waters and white sand.
