Tako-yaki

Tako-yaki

Is the most popular Japanese fast food originating from Osaka and you can find shops and stalls all over Japan that sell the same dish. It is a dumpling with a small round shape made of wheat flour, egg and diced ‘Tako (Octopus)’, pickled red ginger, spring onions and seasoning.

A special ‘Tako-yaki’ hot pan is required to make it and the special sticky sauce (similar to Worcestershire sauce), dried bonito flakes, green dried seaweed powder and mayonnaise (optional) are added as a topping just before serving.
