Shinjuku is world famous for its entertainment and business district and Shinjuku station is the busiest in the world, handling more than three million passengers a day.
Shinjuku also boasts the Metropolitan Government Offices which are located in Shinjuku and the observation decks on the 45h floor are open to the public for free.
Kabukicho is Tokyo’s largest entertainment district with thousands of bars, restaurants, shops, theatres, hostess bars and host clubs.
Golden Gai is the primary drinking destination in all Tokyo and it’s only a short walk from Shinjuku.
Over 200 tiny bars are crammed into six narrow alleys most of which have only a small counter and fewer than 10 seats.
The origin of Golden Gai lies in the black market during the chaos of World War II. Filmmakers, journalists and novelists used to gather here.
Recently, the number of bars run by young owners is increasing and offer a more welcoming atmosphere for first time visitors and tourists.
Shinjuku Gyoen was constructed as a private mansion belonging to feudal Lord Naito of the Edo period. After World War II, it was designated as a national garden and opened to the public.
