Situated on the east coast of Ishigaki, Sunset Beach is a 50 minute drive from city centre. Parking is available a short walk from the beach and costs 300 yen for the day. The beach draws a huge number of visitors in the peak season (from mid-April to October), with many enjoying the range of watersports on offer.
A designated swimming area protects swimmers from habu jellyfish by means of an underwater net. Showers and bathroom facilities are also available at a fee of 300 yen for a single use.
