  1. Day 1

    Representative will meet participants at the airport and assist in boarding a pre-reserved taxi.

    Tokyo hotel to Keio Plaza Hotel

    09:00 - Keio Plaza Hotel
    The tour departs Keio Plaza Hotel to begin sightseeing around Tokyo.

    Imperial Palace Plaza (20 min)
    Admire the view of Nijubashi Bridge and the surrounding scenery at this National Garden that was formerly a private garden of the Royal Family

    Tsukiji Outer Fish Market (50min.)

    Asakusa Kannon & Shopping at Nakamise (60 min)
    Of the 33 temples in Eastern Japan dedicated to the Goddess Kannon, this is the only one in the capital (No. 13 on the pilgrimage to all 33 temples). Visit this historic area which includes Nakamise-dori, the street leading to the temple.

    Pick-up service from hotels in Tokyo to Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal

    09:00 - Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal (120 min)
    Depart Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal and head to Mt. Fuji by bus.
    (Chuo Expressway, or Tomei Expressway).


    Mt. Fuji 5th Station (30 min)
    Start the ascent up Mt. Fuji via the Fuji Subaru Line. Climb 2,300 meters (7,546 ft) above sea level for breath-taking views from above the clouds.

    Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch.

    Lake Ashi Cruise (15 min)
    Go for a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi. The crater lake was born from a powerful volcanic eruption nearly 3,000 years ago and provides postcard views of Mt. Fuji from various angles.

    Mt. Komagatake Ropeway (50 min)
    Spend a total of 50 minutes including a 7-minute cableway ride up to the peak from Hakone-en. Discover the spiritual Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya (original shrine) that nestles at the mountaintop.

    From Odawara Station to Kyoto Station (There may be a transfer at Shizuoka Station or Nagoya Station)

    Go to Kyoto by Hikari or Kodama Shinkansen
    Trip time: 120 to 180 minutes

    20:10 - 23:10 Arrive at Hotel in Kyoto City
    Participants will be taken by taxi from Kyoto Station to their hotels. An English-speaking assistant will guide participants to the taxi.

    Nijo Castle (50 min)
    A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace.

    Kinkaku-ji Temple (45 min)
    Visit this World Heritage Site, also known as the Golden Pavilion. The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful lake.

    Kyoto Imperial Palace (from Mondays to Fridays) (40 min)
    The Kyoto Imperial Palace is the former ruling palace of the Emperor of Japan and served as residence since 1869.

    *Note: Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is visited as a substitute when Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed.
    Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) (40 min)
    The shrine's main hall is a designated national treasure and is famous for housing the God of scholarship. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons.

    From Kyoto to Nara (70 min)
    Head to Nara via the Nara Keinawa Expressway

    Nara Park & Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha) (60 min)
    A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is the symbol of the Nara Period and one of the world's largest wooden structure. Its huge main hall and bronze Great Buddha are impressive to behold.

    Kasuga Taisha Shrine (40 min)
    This Nara Period shrine is designated as a World Heritage Site. The deer at Nara Park are thought to be the shrine messengers.

    Nara Nagomikan (20 min)
    The largest souvenir shop in Nara. Enjoy yourself in this spacious shop and look for the perfect souvenir.
