Cultual experience
Firstly, Japan Travel Centre were amazing from start to finish. The company helped us with the itinerary and made insightful suggestions to enhance our experience. Elena was a fantastic advisor and was generous with sharing with us her extensive knowledge of the country.
The itinerary itself was varied and allowed us, as first timers to Japan, to get a great overview of the country. Elena booked us into a mix of great western style hotels situated close to train stations, metros and local conveniences; and Ryokans (traditional Japanese inns),where we could experience top notch Japanese food and use the Onsen (thermal baths) - allowing us to experience a bit more of Japanese culture.
The whole programme was paced well and varied with trips to Mount Fuji, the Japanese Alps, the historic town of Kanazawa, the mountain town Takayama, the cultural hotbed Kyoto, the reflective Hiroshima, the picturesque island of Miyajima and the bustling bright lights of Tokyo.
The self guided tour suited us and the intinery gave us some freedom to plan our own day. Japan Travel Centre sorted out our JR 7 day rail passes, metro cards and SIM cards with easy instructions for use. These all allowed us to get the most out of our holiday experience.
Would we return to Japan? Without a doubt yes! Now that we have tipped our toes in we want to emmerse ourselves further into this deeply fascinating and enticing country. Thank you Elena and Japan Travel Centre your service was first rate and we have returned home with some golden Memories.

The team in at Japan Travel Centre in London were fantastic. They helped with all aspects of our two-week trip. They had many valuable suggestions. For instance, we never even heard of Kanazawa and thanks to their suggestion we visited this wonderful town. They helped with getting information on local bus and train travel - although this information is available in English on the internet, it can be difficult to find. They came up with suggested travel itineraries and gave us choices for different routes and times. They came back and answered all of our many questions. Their hotels and ryokan suggestions were great choices. The service they provided was superb and made our trip one of the best we've ever had anywhere in the world.
We highly recommend them!by Phil on 10/03/2020

We wanted to visit the Sapporo and Otaru snow festivals together with the Cranes near Kushiro but did not want to drive in the snow. Kaoru built us an itinerary to take us around the island using sightseeing and express buses that we could never have found ourselves.
The trip worked perfectly, the buses arrived on time even in the snow, the drivers had us on their list so were looking for us, so it was easy. The hotels were all good as well. As this was our second trip booked by Kaoru, she knew what we wanted.
The snow festivals were great, a bit cold at times, and each was very different. Whilst Sapporo is the famous one, the smaller festivals at Otaru and Sounkyo are probably more fun. The cranes were just amazing, we had a taxi for 6 hours, we could have stayed even longer. Add in frozen lakes, hot springs, an ice drift cruise and, of course, Onsen at several of the hotels, it made for a great holiday.

Seeing the marvellous glass models by Mitsugi Ohno in museums at Himeji & Nakagawa Bato - Himeji Castle pic attached. Kaoru's travel advice for the awkward journey from Nikko to Bato by train & bus was invaluable - as was her organisation of my hotels and other advice. (This was also the case for my previous three trips too). My visits to Sekiyado and Gyoda museums - helped by volunteer guides - excellently highlighted the importance of river transport & trade in the Kanto region before road and rail. They also highlighted how the important Tone river, by early 18th century, had been diverted – not a minor task! - to flow into the Pacific north of, rather than through Tokyo (Edo then), to aid flood control. Also for the military use of water eg for a successful flood-siege of Bitchu-Takamatsu castle. Murin-an and Sanzenin gardens at or near Kyoto, the Shuyo-en at Nikko & Joruri-ji near Nara were all excellent, as was a boat trip on the Biwa Canal near Kyoto. I also had very rewarding and informative visits to the Hokusai and Edo museums in Tokyo.

We visited Japan for the RWC 2019 and saw 2 matches in Yokohama and Tokyo. In between the matches we rode on a bullet train, visited dog and maid cafes, temples and shrines, met AI robotic puppies and saw Giant pandas in the Zoo at Ueno, Geisha in Kyoto and Monkeys at Arashymia. It was quite a whirlwind of the weird and the wonderful - we loved it !

Fabulous trip to Japan with an itinerary organised by the wonderful Kaoru.
This was my first trip but my husbands second to Japan, and as we were travelling with our baby son he recommended we use this agency as he had done in the past and had a great experience. Kaoru was brilliant, she ensured that all our accommodation was suitable (read: big enough) and she was very helpful accommodating our myriad requirements travelling with a baby. We had only 9- days so limited our visit to Tokyo and Kyoto as well as a night stay in a traditional Ryokan at a hot springs in the mountains near Fuji.
We travelled by bullet train which was a brilliant experience, and again, Kaoru’s help securing a rail pass for travel was invaluable.
We saw plenty, but not nearly enough of what this wonderful country has to offer, so will definitely be heading back.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kaoru and the Japan Travel Centre for help building an itinerary to visit Japan.
