We have all been there. You’re travelling to a foreign country and you promised yourself you’d learn some of the language before you got there, but life had other plans. On top of that, Japanese just looks so difficult. Actually though, Japanese pronunciation is pretty easy once you get to grips with it. While people in Tokyo and Kyoto speak pretty good English, outside of those areas a bit of basic Japanese will really help, and even in those major areas, people always really appreciate the effort if you speak some Japanese. Even some basic phrases and you’ll be sure to hear the phrase ‘nihongo jouzu desu ne!’ or ‘You are so good at Japanese!’ from the locals.
That’s why we made this handy guide, which will have you be sounding like a pro in no time. Good luck. Ganbare!
