Beach Holiday Kyushu: Iki Island Adventure

Itinerary - 3 Days

1. Day 1

   Location

   Fukuoka > Iki island

   Meal

   Dinner

   Your island retreat awaits. Depart from Hakata bayside to Iki island by ferry, which takes roughly two and a half hours. Ferries are infrequent so make sure you are on time for yours!
   
   Upon arrival, you are free to explore the island. What you do with your time is up to you! Kicking back on the beach is a good option, especially if it's summertime. If not, taking a trip around to see the interesting local scenery is a good option, too.
   
   As is to be expected, sushi on the island is incredibly fresh and delicious. Yakiniku, Japanese-style barbeque is also very popular on the island.

2. Day 2

   Location

   Iki island

   Meal

   Breakfast & Dinner

   Again, the day is yours to do with as you wish!
   
   Might we recommend the Shochu distillery in town..? Shochu is a type of potato alcohol very popular in Japan, and this may be the ideal relaxed location to enjoy a tour. The tour is free and includes some tasting, as well as plenty of Shochu to buy which they can ship to anywhere in Japan. We would also recommend an onsen from which you can look out across the ocean.

3. Day 3

   Location

   Iki island > Fukuoka

   Meal

   Breakfast

   After you check out from your hotel, you are free to explore the island until it is time for your ferry back to Kyushu. We hope you have enjoyed your stay on this lovely and unique little island and feel refreshed and eager to get on with the rest of your trip!
