To this date, sumo wrestlers lead a very rigid life dictated by strict custom from meals to the manner of dressing, sleeping and spending their free time. There are only 6 tournaments held every year lasting for 15days. Every tournament is eagerly awaited by locals and visitors alike, awed by the seamless display of pre-match rites and the actual competition. Lose yourself in the excitement and at the end, treat yourself to a hot pot dish called ‘Chanko Nabe’, the staple food of sumo wrestlers.
