• Non-reserved seats of ordinary cars of the Hokuriku Shinkansen between Toyama - Kanazawa station

• Nohi Bus/Toyama Chiho Railway/Hokutetsu Bus: Shirakawago/Kanazawa line and Takayama/Toyama line between Takayama Nohi Bus Center – Shirakawago – Kanazawa (with some exceptions; reservations required)

• Kaetsuno Bus: World Heritage Bus between Shirakawa-go - Shin-Takaoka station


Note

This pass does not allow you to travel on the Tokaido Shinkansen between Kyoto - Shin-Osaka station. Please be aware that to travel on the Tokaido Shinkansen, you will need to pay the required basic fare and any additional fees separately. Be aware that additional fees will also be required for reserved seats of the Hokuriku Shinkansen between Toyama - Kanazawa station.

Takayama Hokuriku Area Pass FAQ

Do I need to reserve the bus to Shirakawago from Takayama?
With a few exceptions, you will need to reserve the seat in advance.
Can I use the pass on the Gran Class from Kanazawa to Toyama?
This pass is not valid on the Green and Gran Class. You will be required for the additional fees for those classes.
Where can I exchange the pass?
You can exchange your Takayama Hokuriku Area Pass at the following offices.

Main Japan Rail Pass

The main Japan Rail Pass allows unlimited travel on trains operated by Japan Railways (JR) Group throughout the country including “Shinkansen”, Bullet Train (Excluding Nozomi and Mizuho trains). This main JR Pass gives you the freedom to explore Japan with no area restriction. A regular round-trip ticket from Tokyo to Osaka costs around 30,000 yen.
