Eight kilometres in length and featuring about 1,200 cherry blossom trees, the area along the Shiraishi River has become one of the best sakura (cherry blossoms) viewing spots in the Tohoku region, particularly because of the backdrop of Mt. Zao, adding to the scenery. During the Sakura festival, the cherry blossoms trees will be lit up, making for a lovely evening stroll.
