Ryoan-ji temple is a Zen temple in Kyoto and well-renowned for its “dry garden” style. It’s considered one of the greatest masterpieces of Japanese horticulture and listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The garden is deceptively simple. It does not have any trees or ponds as other, more mainstream designs and is very unique and individual. There is no specific symbolism only that it is a garden in abstract form, open to personal interpretation.
