Détail du circuit

Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Ibusuki, Yakushima and Kurokawa. Kyushu and its cities are not as popular a tourist destination as its main island rivals, Tokyo and Kyoto, but it should be. Kyushu's culture, food and history are very unique and the scenery on this island is simply incredible. In fact, Kyushu is such a diverse and interesting place that we feel a 14 day tour could easily be made just around this wonderful island. If you are visiting Japan for a lengthy trip or if you have been to Japan before and want to do something new, this trip might be perfect for you. This trip starts in Fukuoka, one of Japan's gourmet cities known worldwide for its ramen, but with so much more to offer. After Fukuoka, you will head to Nagasaki, the only point of contact with the west for hundreds of years as well as the being the site of tragedy, where one of the atomic bombs was dropped. Next you will be visiting Ibusuki where you will be able to experience a natural sand bath. In Kumamoto, you would have the opportunity to visit the astounding Kumamoto Castle, one of the biggest and most beautiful castles in Japan. In Ibusuki, you will get to experience a Japanese sand bath. Next, you will head to the jaw-dropping Yakushima; this entire island was awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status due to its 'outstanding universal value'. From here you will spend some time from Kagoshima and then onwards to Miyazaki to witness the beautiful Takachiho Gorge, a 'power spot' renowned for its natural beauty and connection to nature and Japanese mythology. Next, you will be staying in the charming Kurokawa at a ryokan with excellent hot springs, and also an easy visit to Mt. Aso, a still active volcano. Finally, you'll head to Yufuin, an onsen or 'hot spring' resort town, where you can feel completely at home in nature. This trip will let you explore everything that is great about Kyushu, with a fantastic balance of relaxing, sightseeing, hiking, and of course, eating (and probably drinking!). After this trip you are sure to be charmed by this fantastic part of Japan.

Itinéraire - 14 Jours

  1. Jour 1

    Location
    Fukuoka
    Hotel
JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Hakata Chuo
Welcome to the sub-tropical Kyushu, Japan's third largest island! (Arrive by plane to Fukuoka airport or by train to JR Hakata station.)

At the airport, you will be met by our staff who will help you to transfer to JR Hakata station. If you are arriving there already, great! From Hakata station, we will help you to exchange for your JR Passes and book your seats for this Kyushu adventure. You will then be free to head to your hotel.

After you check-in, you are free to explore Fukuoka!
Fukuoka is known for its nightlife and local cuisine, including the numerous food stalls or 'Yatai' set along the river. Particularly famous in Fukuoka is Hakata ramen, a style of ramen noodles that have led to the creation of restaurants the world over, but nothing quite compares to the authenticity you'll find in Fukuoka.

    Location
    Fukuoka
    Hotel
JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Hakata Chuo
    repas
    Breakfast
On your first full day, you are free to explore Fukuoka.

Fukuoka is great for shopping and food, but it has plenty of other things to see as well. Fukuoka Tower is excellent for aerial views of the city and the sea, and Dazaifu Temple is a vibrant and popular temple. For the best shopping around, head to Canal City, a futuristic mall near the city centre. Whatever you do, we strongly recommend some Hakata ramen!
  3. Jour 3

    Location
    Nagasaki
Next, you will be heading to Nagasaki prefecture's second largest city, Sasebo.

Sasebo has fantastic observatories that look out over the scenic Kujukushima islands, uninhabited islands completely full of nature. This view is really unmissable.

In the afternoon, we suggest a trip to the eerie abandoned island of Gunkanjima, made famous as a location in James Bond's 'Skyfall'.

    Our suggestion:
Presumably you are on Yakushima for the nature and the hiking. On your first full day, we encourage you to try out one of the hiking trails through the island, passing Jomonsugi, the giant cedar in the middle of this forest. The longest hike can take up to ten hours, so if you are feeling particularly adventurous make sure you are up very early so you can be back before sunset.
