Have you always wanted to be in Japan for cherry blossom season but can't make it in the Spring? We have the answer for you. In the Izu penninsula on the coast, the warm climate means that there are early blooms starting from late-February and lasting for roughly one month. During this time, the Kawazu river is awash with beautiful pink petals, making this a perfect trip to cheer up those winter blues and make you feel like Spring has come early. From the 10th of February, and lasting into early March the area celebrates the 'Kawazu Sakura Festival', where during the early evening (until 9PM) the blossoms are lit up in a display known as 'yozakura' which makes for a truly breathtaking sight.

Welcome to Kawazu, a place famous across Japan for its magnificent cherry blossoms to relax and enjoy some authentic Japanese culture. Kawazu is just over two hours from Tokyo and easily accessible by train, and where you will be transferred from the station to your hotel. While you're here, take it easy and enjoy the cherry blossoms and the festival atmosphere. Tonight you will be staying in the fantastic Imaiso, a Japanese 'ryokan' with hot springs on site, where you will also be treated to a traditional style of Japanese meal known as 'kaiseki' which is Japan's version of haute cuisine, and involves multiple courses. Your mouth will be sure to melt.
