The self-guided tour for those who are looking the place to relax with nature surroundings! Hita prospered as Tenryo (direct controlled territory of Edo Shogunate) during the Edo period (1603-1868) and is a place that has been blessed with plentiful water for a long time. Amagase is a little onsen town located south-east part of Hita city, along Kusu river. Staying overnight at the ryokan surrounded by forest and the sound of the flowing river and waterfall would be one of the highlight of this tour.

    Take a JR train from Hakata to Yufuin before heading to Roykan.
    Enjoy strolling through Yufuin hot-spring town.

    e.g. 09:24am or 10:25am depart from Hakata to Yufuin by JR train (approx. 130 min.)


    e.g 15:50 depart Yufuin to Amagase by JR train (approx. 40 min.)

    Complimentary transfer service to Ryokan from Amagase station will be provided.
    Amagase is a little onsen town, with a 1,300 year history, located along the Kusu river in the south-east part of Hita city.
    Enjoy staying in Ryokan!

    Please try Onsen again in the morning!
    Private open-air bath is available (please book at the time of check-in)

    Complimentary transfer service to Amagase station will be provided.
    Your baggage will be transferred to Ryokan you are staying tonight.

    Before departing from Amagase station, why not visit Sakura-daki waterfall which is located 10 min. on foot from the station.

    11:24 Travel from Amagase to Hita by local train (approx. 15 min.)

    Visit Mameda town to enjoy a stroll ‘Path of History’ and lunch in old town with traditional merchants’ houses and store houses.



    After 15:00 Complimentary transfer service from Hita station to Ryokan can be arranged.

    Enjoy the second relaxing night in another traditional Ryokan with modern comfort!
