Tour Detail

Tokyo, Kyoto, Miyajima, Kagoshima, Ibusuki, Kumamoto and Fukuoka. On this self-guided holiday you will be hitting the absolute must-sees of Japan, on this new and updated version of the so-called 'Golden Route'. This tour is ideal for those seeking an even richer Japanese experience than just the usual suspects of Tokyo Kyoto, although they are of course included, a Golden route tour certainly wouldn't be complete without them! Take in the sights, sounds (and smells!) of perhaps the world's most iconic city, the bustling metropolis of Tokyo. Admire Japan's most famous natural landmark, the stunning Mt. Fuji. See more gorgeous temples than you ever thought possible in one place in Japan's old 'thousand year capital', Kyoto. Gaze out across the sea at the beautiful Itsukushima Shrine. Witness the always smoking volcano of Sakurajima. Try out some of Japan's famous onsen or 'hot springs' in Ibusuki. Enjoy one of Japan's most magnificent castles in Kumamoto. Move through Takachiho Gorge, a 'power spot' renowned for its natural beauty and connection to nature and Japanese mythology. Stare into the crater of Mt. Aso, an active volcano. Enjoy even more hot springs in Yufuin before finally heading to one of Japan's gourmet capitals, Fukuoka. This trip has it all, so get ready for the cross-country adventure of a lifetime!
