Shibuya and Harajuku are the capital of Tokyo’s youth culture and gourmet trends. A long queue can always be seen outside poplar shops in Harajuku. Opened in 1978 and has become the long-standing symbol of the Harajuku style.
Opened in 2006 and designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Tadao Ando, this stylish complex with six stories above ground and six below offers approximately 100 shops, restaurants and a residential area.
Meiji Jingu is a Shinto Shrine dedicated to the divine souls of Emperor Meiji and his consort Empress Shoken. In 1920, people from all over Japan donated 100,000 trees and voluntary workers created a forest around the shrine. This is the most popular shrine for Hatsumode (the first shrine visit of the New Year).
